Talent solutions to enable cost-effective growth today.

Background

A global services provider engaged in a major Epic implementation for a provincial healthcare system in Canada faced a critical talent gap: a lack of bilingual, Epic-certified professionals in the local market. Through a strategic partnership, we designed and delivered a customized Optimum CareerPath® program to recruit, train, and certify bilingual talent, successfully creating a sustainable pipeline aligned with project needs.

Challenge

A global services provider supporting a large-scale healthcare IT implementation in this new market faced a critical workforce challenge that threatened both timeline and delivery success. The project required highly specialized talent, specifically Epic-certified professionals, yet there was no readily available talent pool in Canadian market. The need for fully bilingual resources added another layer of complexity, as these individuals had to effectively support local stakeholders while meeting the technical demands of the implementation. Compounding the issue, Epic certification requires structured training and controlled access, creating a significant barrier to rapidly scaling qualified resources. With aggressive project timelines and immediate demand for skilled support, traditional hiring approaches were not viable. The organization needed a new way to identify, train, and deploy talent at speed, without compromising quality or project outcomes.

Solution

To address the talent gap, Optimum Healthcare IT partnered with the client to design and execute a tailored solution through its Optimum CareerPath® program. Built specifically for the Canadian healthcare environment and bilingual requirements, the program created a scalable pipeline of qualified talent where none previously existed. Optimum co-created a customized curriculum to align with Canadian healthcare workflows and Epic certification standards, ensuring candidates were prepared not only to pass certification but to contribute meaningfully from day one. The program focused on recruiting high-potential, bilingual candidates with strong aptitude and transferable skills, then delivering intensive, role-based training to accelerate readiness. Through a structured training and certification approach, candidates gained both the technical expertise and practical experience required to support the implementation. Once trained, resources were deployed into project roles through a contract-to-hire model, enabling immediate impact while providing a seamless pathway to full-time employment with the client.
